The chalet, named Hafan Hedd (meaning “peaceful retreat”), perfectly captures the essence of this scenic hillside getaway.

The lounge and dining area is a welcoming space with comfortable seating for four, ideal for enjoying meals or unwinding after a day of exploring.

The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need, including a washing machine, fridge and all essential appliances, making it easy to prepare meals during your stay.

Getting to Tywyn
Our property is located in the seaside town of Tywyn, on the beautiful mid-Wales coast. The postcode LL36 9AG will bring you very close to the house when using sat nav.
By Car 🚗
Tywyn is reached via scenic coastal and mountain roads.
- From the Midlands / England, most guests travel via the M54 motorway toward Shrewsbury, then take the A458 road toward Welshpool.
- Continue via the A470 road toward Machynlleth.
- From Machynlleth, follow the A493 road south along the coast for around 20 minutes to reach Tywyn.
Once in Tywyn, follow directions for the town centre and the seafront area. The postcode LL36 9AG should bring you directly to the property.
By Train 🚆
Tywyn has its own railway station on the scenic Cambrian Coast Line.
- The nearest station is Tywyn railway station, which is within walking distance or a very short taxi ride from the property.
- Direct trains run along the coast between Pwllheli, Aberystwyth and Machynlleth.
By Air ✈️
The closest major airports are:
- Manchester Airport – around 2–2.5 hours by car
- Liverpool John Lennon Airport – around 2 hours by car
- Birmingham Airport – around 2.5 hours by car
From the airports you can hire a car or take a train toward Machynlleth and connect to the Cambrian Coast line.
From Tywyn
- Head south on the A493 towards Aberdyfi.
- Continue for approximately 2 miles until you reach the turn-off signposted Cwm Maethlon, Happy Valley.
- Turn onto the Happy Valley Road
- Follow the road as it winds through the countryside, passing small farmhouses and open fields.
- After about 1 mile, you will see the entrance to Erw Porthor Chalet Park and Farm on your left.
- Take the left turn and continue through the park entrance.
- As you enter the park, you’ll come to a small roundabout.
- Turn left, and park on the right-hand side (if space is available).
- Chalet 12 is set back, up a double set of steps on the right-hand side.
